Jacob E. Smith

March 18, 2010 — November 3, 2025

Noblesville, IN

Jacob Edward Smith, lovingly known as “Superman,” passed peacefully at his home in Noblesville, Indiana on November 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 15 years old. Jacob was born on March 18, 2010, in Kokomo, Indiana, to his devoted parents, Robert and Christina Smith.

From the moment he entered the world, Jacob shone with uncommon courage and joy. A true fighter, he bravely overcame Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia as a toddler, earning the nickname “Superman” for his strength, resilience, and radiant spirit. When cancer returned years later, Jacob met it with the same determination and grace that defined his life, never losing his humor, creativity, or kindness.

He was a student at Noblesville High School, where he was deeply loved by his teachers and classmates. During his time being homebound, he was especially fond of his homebound teacher, Amy Haughey, or Mrs. “Hoy,” as Jacob affectionately spelled her name.

Jacob was an incredibly talented artist whose imagination knew no bounds. He was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, an avid movie watcher, and a master of costume and character, bringing joy to everyone he met through his playful, fearless self-expression. Whether sketching intricate drawings or stepping into one of his many creative roles, Jacob filled every space with laughter and light.

Jacob loved Jesus, and even in his final days could often be heard singing worship songs, his voice gentle and full of peace.

Above all, Jacob’s greatest gift was love. He adored his family deeply and took special pride in being a loving brother and uncle to his beloved nieces and nephew, Karman, Marz, and Kota, who brought so much joy to him.

Jacob is survived by his proud parents, Robert and Christina Smith; his sisters, Angel (mother of Karman and Kota) and Lilly (mother of Marz); his grandparents John and Sharon Wright; his grandparents Phillip Smith and Jodi Chapman; his uncles Dustin Wright (father to Presley and Harper) and Zachary Wright and wife Shannon (parents to Samantha, Nolan, Miloh, Elliott, and Banner); and his aunt and uncle Karrie and Aaron Thomas (parents to Tyson, William, and Sutter). One of Jacob’s final wishes was to have a girlfriend. Another cancer warrior with a beautiful spirit fulfilled that wish - his Jilly (Jillian Miller).

He was loved by a large extended family and countless friends who will forever cherish his laughter, bravery, and boundless heart.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Jacob lived fully and loved deeply. His courage continues to inspire all who knew him to live boldly, love freely, and meet each day with the kind of joy only “Superman” could bring.

Visitation will be held from 9am until 11:30am, Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at Chapel Church (675 Walnut St. Noblesville, IN 46060). A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am directly following visitation. Burial will follow funeral service at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery.
