Indianapolis, Indiana – Jackie Thomas Hines, 62, went home to Christ, on September 16, 2025, after being comforted by his family and friends. His kindness and generosity will be greatly missed.
Jackie was born in Jonesville, Virginia on May 19, 1963, to parents Jack & Judith (Haynes) Hines. He attended Northwest High School, graduate in 1981, and became a lighting technician, glass repairman, and most importantly an automotive technician who worked at The Indiana Raceway Park for many years until his retirement.
When not working, Jackie was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed relaxing out with nature. He was also a huge sports fan, especially racing. From stock cars to Indy cars, he loved them all. Jackie also had a soft spot for animals, taking care of many over his life and was especially fond of dogs.
Most of all though, Jackie was devoted to his family and friends, especially his son Roger.
Jackie is preceded in death by his father, Jack Hines.
He is survived by his son, Roger Hines; mother Judith Hines; siblings Robert A. Hines, Pamela R. Neal-Gulusha (Paul), and Deborah C. Pierle (Kevin); as well as grandchildren Seth M. Hines (Brelyn Locke), Elijah Hines; and nieces and nephews Tanya Fullen, Amanda Hines, Robert Hines Jr "Scutter", Austin Pierle, and loved ones Leah Hardcastle, Brandon Hearsey, Christina Hardcastle and more.
