Jack E. Sheets passed on July 31, 2025, at the age of 97.
Jack was born on April 6, 1928, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Ray/Plew on September 10,1955 and they shared a loving marriage until her passing March 16th, 2012.
Jack was known for his kind heart, devotion to family, generosity, and mostly his quiet behind the scenes support and deep love of Dorothy. Throughout his life, he enjoyed managing little league baseball teams with his sons, camping, fishing and spending time on the lake with his family. He loved watching television and playing cards.
Like his father, Jack was a Truck Driver starting work with the Teamster Union at age Fifteen. Documenting age was not as important back then. He Honorably served in the Army as a truck driver from 1953-1955 then returned to work as a Teamsters Truck driver until He retired in 1990.
He is survived by His Children Donald Plew, Ronald Plew, Steve Plew, Darlene Plew and Jack Sheets. His Grandchildren Brian, Angie, Shawn, Elizabeth, Rodney, Ryan, Johnathan, Brandi, Misty, Dennis, Jack III, Jennifer and Jason. He also has twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Dorothy, Son Michael Plew and Daughter Theresa Plew/Wiley.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN, 46229, from 11AM-1PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 1PM. Jack will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery following services.
