Jack Mitchell

Jack L. Mitchell 91, Brownsburg, died April 28, 2012 in Indianapolis, IN. Jack was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 25, 1921 to the late Walter and Ester (Leavell) Mitchell. Before retiring, Jack worked as an engineer for Allison Gas Turbine General Motor Division. He served as the treasurer for the Fayette Volunteer Fire Department, secretary for the General Motors Retiree Club, and was a member of the American Legion post 331 in Brownsburg. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Amelia Mitchell and his brother, William Mitchell. He is survived by his children, Richard Dean Mitchell, Nancy Amelia Nay, Linda Sue Westbrook, Marylou Allen, and Kevin Shawn Mitchell; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2nd at the funeral center.
