Jack L. Hoerger

Jack L. Hoerger, 85, of Speedway, passed away November 17, 2011. Jack was a retired supervisor for Esterline-Angus Company. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and an author of a book about WWII that is now in the Library of Congress. He was a member of Speedway Christian Church, V.F.W. Post 500 and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a twenty year volunteer at Methodist and I.U. West Hospitals and had been on the board of directors for Methodist Hospital. He was also a volunteer at the Indiana Transportation Museum where he volunteered for the State Fair Train. He is survived by his wife Anna L. Hoerger, sons: Jim (Nancy) and Tom Hoerger, brothers: Fred and Richard Hoerger, sister Mims Pirtle, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 pm, Friday, November 18, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway. Services will be at 11 am with calling one hour prior, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Speedway Christian Church. Entombment will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
