Retired wealth manager and pastor Jack D. Burks, 75, of Fishers died Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Born April 1, 1951, Jack’s journey through life began in San Antonio, TX, with stops in New Whiteland, Southport, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Indiana University- Bloomington before launching his financial career in Pittsburgh and ending it on Wall Street, where he focused on the bond market. After retiring in 2000, he returned to Indiana.
After traveling around the world as a retiree, Jack’s journey took him to Christian Theological Seminary, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2009. He then pastored the Milledgeville United Methodist Church for four years before retiring again to focus on his family.
Jack used his financial expertise to serve on the Heartland Methodist Foundation. He was a member of Zionsville United Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his wife Pamela (whom he married in 1996), his brother Brad and wife Cyndy, and their son Jason, who was also Jack’s godson. Other survivors include his stepdaughter Regina Evans, M.D., her husband Ray, and their two sons, Leo and Zachary.
He was the son of the late Delbert and Inez Burks of Indianapolis.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flanner-Buchanan’s Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road, with visitation at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Fishers Youth Assistance Program, Covenant House or a charity of the donor’s choice.
