Jack Lee Boeldt, age 87 passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026.
Jack was born on April 12, 1938 in Indianapolis.
He married Janet Wheeler on February 14, 1989 in Indianapolis. He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Janet Boeldt of Avon, IN.
He is survived by his children: daughter Cynthia (husband Gary) Farber of Brownsburg, IN and son: David (wife Tonya) Boeldt of Indianapolis.
His extended children: Allen Montgomery of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Ron (wife Heather) Patience of Flagstaff, AZ, Lora Buchanan of Florida, and Dawn (husband Butch) Thomas of Port Saint Lucie, FL.
Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as other family members and relatives also survive.
Jack is preceded in death by one son: Jay Boeldt.
Jack grew up in Indianapolis in the Irvington area, which he was very fond of.
He attended Howe High School, graduating in the class of 1956. During high school, he was on the high school football team, which he loved to talk about.
After high school Jack attended Tri State studying engineering. Throughout his working years and professional career he worked in electrical engineering, mostly working with building contracts to help with electrical in new buildings. He was very proud of his work for many years at Indianapolis Power & Light.
Over the years, Jack enjoyed many things including watching sports, building model boats and ships. Jack built and flew remote control airplanes. He also liked to volunteer with Boy Scouts and was a Boy Scout leader who loved the camping trips; after his retirement he volunteered at Eagle Creek Park.
Very notably Jack was a very talented artist. Jack and Janet were members of the Ben Davis Christian Church congregation for many years. He had a passion for Robert Service poetry.
Jack was a very honest, kind, dependable Christian. He was well known to tell long stories.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park Funeral Center, located at 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
His funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.
Jack will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Floral Park Cemetery.
