Ivy Wright Dunlap Butcher
96, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully, on September 18, 2013. Ivy was born on April 14, 1917 to the late John and Letitia (Loughesd) Wright. She was preceded in death by, husband, Paul T. Butcher, sisters, Alice Wright and Gladys Sowman; brothers, Jack Wright and Wilfred Wright. Ivy graduated from Burlington High School in 1935, and she attended Burlington Business College. She owned and operated Malcolm L. Dunlap Insurance Agency, and retired in 1982. She was a Member of North United Methodist Church, and the Welcome Wagon Club of Northside Indianapolis.
Ivy was a loving mother of her children and stepchildren as well as a mother to their many friends. She is survived by her, son Larry Dunlap (Laurie), daughter Cheryl D. Gentry (Don), stepchildren,
Mike, Randy, Marty, Tony, Cpt. Tim, Alan,and Raquel Spellman; brother, Edward Wright and sister, Gloria Scribner; six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren,
and six great grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Friends may call Wednesday September 25, 2013 from 4pm-5pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. Funeral service will follow at 5pm.
Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association.
