Ivan Ward Jones 74, passed away January 30, 2011. He was born in Indianapolis on July 3, 1936 to Everett and Emily Jones, who preceded him in death. Ivan attended Ben Davis High School and Indiana University. He was a proud and loyal officer of the Indianapolis Police Department, of which he was Officer of the Year in 1979 and Officer of the Month in January of 1995. Retiring after 30 years of service in 1998, Ivan spent his remaining time on Earth doing what he loved most, puttering in his home, cooking and loving his wife, family and dogs. He leaves behind those who love him, wife Cheryl; son, Bryan (Debbie); daughter, Amber; brother, Greg (Terri); grandson, Alex; granddaughter, Aubrye; dogs, Maggie, Chloe, Fronz and a host of other family and friends. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 4, 2011 in Washington Park North Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately following at the FOP, 1525 S. Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203.
