Iva L. Hubbard

85, of Indianapolis, passed away June 19, 2016. Iva was born in Calvertville, IN on November 21, 1930 to the late, Chester and Eva Turpin. She retired from William H. Block (Lazarus).

Iva married the love of her life, Jesse A. Hubbard on June 29, 1947. The sociable couple enjoyed parties and dances with the Shriner’s and Mason’s, camping at Dietz Recreation Park, traveling, and square dancing with the Greenfield Square Dance Club. Iva also enjoyed euchre and crocheting.

Iva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse; son, Jimmie L. Hubbard; and brother, Loren Turpin. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon K. Hubbard and Karen S. Hare (Mark); grandsons: David, Chris and Matt Hubbard; and two great-grandchildren: Christopher and Kylee; and her siblings: Elizabeth “Liz” Young (the late, Robert), Bernadine Kay (the late, Floyd), Maurel Turpin (Dee), and Alfred Turpin (Mavis).

Calling will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, where funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 25. Burial will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery.
