Irma C. Uebelhoer

On a quiet and peaceful evening, the Lord called Irma C. Uebelhoer to be with Him. She was born January 2, 1925, in Jamestown, North Dakota to Franklin and Grace Anslinger along with seven brothers and two sisters.  The family moved to Ft. Branch, Indiana where she graduated from high school.  She continued her education graduating from Indiana Business College and began her career at Western Electric where she met and married Urban (Pete) Uebelhoer. They were married for 72 years, married on February 4, 1950. Together they raised two sons Gary and Tom (Kande deceased). She put her business career aside to be a stay-at-home mom until Gary graduated from high school. During that time, she volunteered in public schools, helping children to read. She had an offer and accepted to return to office work with the law firm of Ice Miller.  She worked for several years until she was asked to work in the mayor's office under Mayor Bill Hudnut. During that time, she was involved in bringing the Baltimore Colts to Indianapolis. She left the mayor's office when Pete accepted a job with Time, Inc. in New York. She returned to office work with Bessemer Trust and remained until Pete retired from Time, Inc. and they moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.  She volunteered again at Eckerd College returning to clerical work until her health started to fail.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete, and her brothers and sisters.

Final resting arrangements are being made with Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive on April 12, 2024, at 1: 00 PM.   Family and Friends may gather one hour before service.
