84 years old,of Indianapolis, Indiana went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday,September 19, 2016. She was employed before her retirement at the age of 81 atMethodist Hospital as a Patient Visitor Representative. She was a devotedactive member of Gideons International since 1971. She was also a member ofAbundant Life Church since 1954, where she served with many ministries.Alongside her beloved husband, she helped plant churches to share the Gospel ofJesus. Iris was a volunteer for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Associationand Clowes Hall women’s committee for many years. Her most proud accomplishmentwas being a devoted mother and wife. Iris was known for her unwavering faithand loving spirit to all who knew her.

Iris issurvived by her husband of 66 years, Delos “Max” Maxwell; daughters, Brenda KayTishim (John) and Sharon Lynn Powlus (Jim); grandchildren, R. Stephen Powlus(Grace) and Alyssa B. Powlus; brother, Donald I. Brown. She was preceded indeath by her parents, Russell and Mary Annette Hammond-Brown; brothers, ArnoldE. Brown and Dennis D. Brown.
