Irene Louise Tucker

Irene Louise Gierke Tucker, 90, passed away December 24,2015. She was born March 21, 1925 in Gibbon, Nebraska to the late Ernest andFrancis Long.

She enjoyed her home, cooking and gardening. Her greatestjoy in life was family. Irene always took pride in being a wife, mother,grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from the Kroger Company afterworking 16 years in the bakery office.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Rick) Reeves, sonBill (Brenda) Gierke, step-daughter, Pam (Ron) Beam, step-daughter-in-law,Sheila Tucker, 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L.Gierke and her late husband, Warren “Bill” V. Tucker.

Friends may visit with Irene’s family from 1:00 PM untilservice time at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. WashingtonStreet., Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. Concluding services and burial willfollow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memoryto the American Heart Association.
