Jean E. (Sowders) Roark 94 of Indianapolis died December 27, 2014. Jean was born in Middlesboro, KY to Harrison and Dora (Partin) Sowders. Jean worked as an assembler and packager for Eli Lilly and Company in the insulin department. She praised and worshiped her Lord and Savior at Charity Tabernacle Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband George W. Patton, a daughter Valerie Ferryman and a son Ray Patton and a brother and sister. Calling will be held on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway from 4 to 9 pm then on Wednesday December 31, 2014 from 10 am to the time of the funeral service at 11 am. Jean is survived her devoted and loving husband Nelson LeRoy Roark who she married in April of 1971. She is also survived by her children Ruby Sheahan, Robert (Dorothy) Patton, Jerry (Cheryl) Patton, Pamela Roark, Steve (Charlotte) Roark, Gary (Janet) Roark and Deanna (Mick) Rooney and 23 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren and a sister Betty McCracken and Harrison Junior Sowders.
