Ima Florence Ring, 92, of Indianapolis passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She was born December 14, 1921 in Scranton, Arkansas to the late Felix and Dona Tyner Garner.
She lived most of her life in Greenfield. Having lived through the Great Depression, she knew the value of hard work. She defied the odds and came out of it stronger than ever. She helped provide for her family until her retirement, and then continued showing them unconditional and sacrificial love. She loved to go fishing, and enjoyed traveling. One notable trip was to Washington, DC to appear before Congress for the Council on Aging.
Ima is survived by her children Donna Henry, John (Maria Miller) Ring, and Garry (Linda) Ring; grandchildren Tim, Brenda, Denny, Sherry, Debbie, Cheryl, Mark, John-John, Shelly, Tammy, Steve, Teri, Lori, Charlie, and Chad; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ima is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Ring, son Wayne Ring, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
