Ida “Mae” Setser, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away April 11th, 2022. She was born in South Solan, Ohio to parents Charles and Sophia (Lewis) Hanson.
In 1955, she married the love of her life, John. They shared 67 wonderful years together.
A very hard worker, Mae held several jobs throughout her life and retired from the Indianapolis Traffic Court office.
She attended Trinity Baptist church for several years, where she was baptized.
Mae was a vibrant, loving woman. She took great pride in keeping her home in order, clean and organized. Mae was an excellent cook and loved sharing her dishes with family and friends. Bluegrass music was Mae’s favorite. She and John enjoyed attended many concerts and bluegrass festivals. Photography was a passion for Mae. She liked taking photos and collecting photos others had taken. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her cowboy movies. Above all, Mae adored her family, and loved spending time with John, her daughters, grandchildren, and family.
She is survived by her loving husband John; children Shirley (Gary) Howard, Sherry (Roger) Rhorer, and Lynn (Kevin) Osburn; grandchildren John Rhorer, and Daniel Howard, and Jennifer Zentz; great-grandchildren Savannah, Camden, Silas, Blake, and George; siblings Charles Hanson, Dorothy Kratowicz, and Shirley Ann Starr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Arvin Hanson and Mary Bass.
Visitation for Mae will be at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, Thursday, April 14th, from 12-2pm. Her funeral will begin at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East cemetery.
