Ida Mae Turner, 85, passed away peacefully, August 28th, 2022. She was born April 11th, 1937 in Girdler, Kentucky, to parents Liman and Stacie (Proffitt) Jones.
Ida married the love of her life, Delmar “Hoover” Turner. They shared many wonderful years together. Hoover passed away in 2013.
She was a valued member of Mt. Calvary Church for many years.
Ida was an God fearing, loving woman with a huge heart. She was a true child of God and led many others to His grace. Ida was an excellent cook, a skill that began with she was just six years old! She was very artistic and enjoyed sewing and ceramics.
Ida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Darrell Turner, Sr., Tammy (Tim) Caperton, and Loretta Turner; grandchildren Darrell Junior, Douglas, Beckie, Megan, Cody, and Carrie; Great-grandchildren James, Alycia, Katelyn, Kelsey, Jazmyna, Jakobie, and Amani; step grandchildren Daesha and Shasteen; great-great grandchildren Emmah, Elijah; step great-great grandchildren Devin, Kearsten, Zavaya, Zavyon and her sister Christina Pedigo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Hoover; her children Harold, William and Sandy; grandchild Wayne; siblings Betty Nealy, Ruby Jones, Leonard Jones, and Nancy Pittman.
Visitation will be Friday, September 2nd, at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park from 1-3pm. Her funeral will begin at 3pm. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
