Ida K. Mosier

December 5, 1918 — July 25, 2013

Ida Kathryn Mosier, 94, of Indianapolis, passed July 25, 2013 at her home in Indianapolis. She was the former Ida Kathryn Gainer, a native of Saint Andrew, Florida. She was a seventeen year administrator/owner of Creative Kindergarten and Nursery. She was a member of East Tenth Street United Methodist Church and a former long time member of Saint Andrew Episcopal Church. Mrs. Mosier received a lifetime appointment as postmaster of Saint Andrew Station from President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She was Past President of the Vandeworker's Club, Which supported the Indianapolis News Boys Band. Mrs. Mosier was also past president of the Blue Goose Society and a member for Twenty Five years. She enjoyed music and especially singing. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; Clyde, Cliff, Orene, Reggie, Jack, Julia and June Gainer, and by her loving husband of 58 years, James Thomas Mosier. She is survived by her sons, Guy Timothy Mosier and his wife Trish, of Indianapolis and Franklin Eugene Mosier and his wife Cyndie of Niles, Michigan; her grandchildren, Mary Beth Marshall, Christina Kopp, Jennifer Lynn Rangel, Shannon Jennae Gridley and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Visitation, 2 hours prior to service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
