Hugh Ellsworth Gibson 82, of Indianapolis, died unexpectedly, December 1, 2010 in Golden, Colorado. Hugh was born March 13, 1928 in Winner, South Dakota to the late William and Frances Gibson. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Counter Intelligence. Following his service to his country, Hugh began a career in banking with Pacific Mutual which took him to New Jersey and Oregon. Most of his professional career was spent with Bank One where he served as a Vice President and Trust Officer. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and supported the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janet; his children, Keith (wife Jean) Gibson and Amy (husband Ken Ross) Gibson; and 5 grandchildren, Emily, Melissa, Kenneth, Molly, and Jack. A service in celebration of Hugh's life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Broad Ripple, where friends are encouraged to gather from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts take the form of donations to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
