Howard Edward Risley,
83, of Speedway, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born on January 2, 1930 in Washington, IN to Ira and Josephine (Ford) Risley. Howard was a 1947 graduate of Plainville High School and a proud U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 510, Speedway Christian Church, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge 678 where he served as a Past Master. Howard also officiated high school basketball for 25 years, retiring in 1972. He worked 55+ years as a Sales Consultant for several car dealerships including Charlie Stuart Oldsmobile, Collins Oldsmobile, Don Sisk Pontiac, Hare Automobile, Pedigo and Andy Mohr Chevrolet. Howard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara "Bobbie" (Tarr) Risley; son, Jeffrey E. Risley; brother, Norman Risley of Plainville IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Risley; and a sister, Avanell (Peg) Brown. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 11am at Flanner and Buchanan- Speedway. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services. Entombment will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Speedway Christian Church or the REALTOR Foundation: 1912 N Meridian St Indianapolis, IN 46202.
