Hermine "Mimi" L. Mckneight

Hermine “Mimi” L. McKneight, 80, Carmel, passed away September 12, 2018.  She was born on March 24, 1938, to the late Dr. Charles J. and Marie E. (Baran) Murphy of Fairview Park, OH.  Mimi, to all who knew her, was a deeply caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who loved to laugh and gave the best hugs. She married James R. McKneight in 1958, and raised three loving children. She was totally dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great-grandson in every aspect of their lives.

She was a graduate of Fairview High School, attended Purdue University and was a member of Chi Omega sorority.  Mimi was a majorette in the Purdue All American Marching Band, continued to be active with the Chi Omega Alumni Association and the Purdue University Alumni Association until her passing. Mimi volunteered with the Community North Hospital Auxiliary and was a hospice volunteer.  She was a Cub Scout leader, PTA president, Junior Golf President, and involved in every other activity in which her children were involved. She loved reading, traveling, Christmas Eve, an incredible bargain and Chillable Red, but her main passion in life was her family.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of almost 60 years, James McKneight; three children, Mimi (Jeff) Vanarsdall, Jim (Carrie) McKneight; and Megan (Mark) Meredith; five grandchildren; one great grandson; and a sister, Lolly Weigand.

Visitation will be Friday, September 21st from 4pm-6pm at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.
