96, of Lawrence, passed away at Westminster Village North Health Center in Oaklandon on December 2, 2015. He was born in North Vernon, IN on March 8, 1919 to the late Matthew Hicks and Lora Myrtle (Robbins) Hicks-Good. Herman worked as a plumber for over 40 years, most with Earl W. Rich Company of Indianapolis. His motto was there was never a job too small or too big that he couldnt handle. He served in the US Army in WWII and was honorably discharged. Herman was preceded in death by his loving wife Eva, a daughter, Mary Louise Salbeck, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Mary L. Anderson of Indianapolis, IN and Edna May McCune of Summerfield, FL, 3 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., with calling from 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
