Hale, Herbert T. (Tom), age 76, born in Blue Diamond, Kentucky and raised in Kettering, Ohio, passed away on December 25, 2017 in Indiana after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Hale, mother, Ada Schoch, and brother Jerry Hale. He is survived by his sister Michealee Whybrew (Lyle), children Greg Hale (Cindy), Joe Hale (Jennifer), Brenda Krebs (Kevin), and Lori Moore (Steve), as well as 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1959 and then began his career selling shoes at Town and Country in Kettering, Ohio, which he did until he retired. He lived in Clayton, Indiana for many years and enjoyed fishing, sports, NASCAR, coin collecting, and spending time with his beloved dog, Smokey. Service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center at 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, IN, on Friday, December 29, 2017, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Landrum Cemetery in East Bernstadt, KY at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
