Herbert Winfred Egan, Jr.

Herbert Winfred Egan, Jr. 70 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2024.  He was born August 5, 1953, in Henry County, Indiana to the late Herbert W. & Ruth E. (Jones) Egan. Herb, as he was affectionately known, was retired from Rolls Royce as an Instrument Repairman and was a member of Local #933.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  Herb enjoyed in his younger years playing softball, bowling, classic cars, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, was a Golden Gloves Boxer, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He is survived by his loving wife, Denise (Johnson) Egan, his children, Erin Egan, Herbert W. Egan III, Scott(Angie) Wright, Christine  (Adam)Corban, Kathi (Artie) Locke, Kelli Hammel, Kandi (Dave) Seay, Kerri Duncan, his 14 grandchildren, his 6 great grandchildren, his brother, Bill (Helen) Gorman,   his sisters, Carlyn “Sis”,  Gabel, Vickie (Brian) Thiele Bracken,  and his brother-in-law’s, Kenneth Johnson, and Glen Johnson.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service there beginning at 12:00 pm. Pastor Mark Woodard will officiate the service.  Herb will be laid to rest at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana following the service at 2:30pm.
