Henry "Hank" Frank Renkiewicz 86, of Indianapolis, formerly of Severna Park, Maryland, died April 22, 2011. He was born to Chester and Florentina (Solnikowski) Renkiewicz in Hamtramck, Michigan on September 17, 1924. Hank was a veteran of the U. S. Army 104th Infantry Division, also known as the Timberwolf Division, which defeated the Germans at the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945. Hank married Emily Krynski on August 28, 1948. They enjoyed nearly 63 years of marriage. Hank received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his MS from University of Pittsburgh. He was employed for over 30 years as an engineer in Research and Development at the Westinghouse Corporation. Known at Hoosier Village as the "informal official photographer", Hank enjoyed photography and computers. He was an avid fisherman, and loved exploring the Chesapeake Bay on his boat during the 44 years he and Emily lived in Maryland. He also enjoyed being with his family, who will greatly miss their time with him. Hank is survived by his wife, Emily; daughter Robin Julia Renkiewicz Miner (David); grandchildren Jeffery David Miner (Katina) and Emily Jean Miner; and great-granddaughter Stella Jean Miner. He was preceded in death by son David Chester Renkiewicz , his parents, and all of his siblings. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak Street, Zionsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 28 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery.
