On January 22, 2015, Henrietta Bell Stegemiller, better known as Dolly, at the age of 91 left this world to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dolly was born September 28, 1923 in Winchester, Indiana to the late John Thomas and Wava Mildred Guthiel Burnworth. They called her Dolly because they said she looked like a Kewpie Doll. Growing up she was mostly raised by her grandmother, which certainly helped her grow into the strong woman she became.
Dolly married James E. Stegemiller January 18th 1946. He worked for the Indianapolis Power & Light, and she went to beauty school to become a beautician. She did hair out of a small basement salon while raising her kids and keeping a happy home. It was very apparent she was a very intelligent and strong willed woman. She was full of spunk and zeal. Some would have called her a character! She was very good at saving to insure they would be able to put their three children through college, and to plan for the future. She loved spending her time crocheting, sewing, gardening, and cooking. In her younger years, she was a member of Phi Delta Pi sorority. She also served on the Cumberland Parks Board later in her life.
She is survived by her oldest daughter Shirley Ann (George Thomas) O'Neil, her only son David Allen Stegemiller, one niece Marilyn Heavenridge (Paul) Brown, one granddaughter Georgeanna O'Neil and one great granddaughter Aleiyah O'Neil.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Charles E. Burnworth (1980) and Enos P. "Bud" Burnworth (1997). She also lost her beloved husband of 57 years "Stag" in 2003. Her daughter Donna Mae Stegemiller, "Babe" went to heaven in 2009.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to New Fellowship Family Church.
