Helen C. Williamson

Mrs. Helen C. Williamson, the daughter of B.W. and Amy Keaton, was born on April 6, 1943, in West Point, Mississippi. She was one of seven siblings, four of whom preceded her in death.

Helen attended B.F. Ford High School in New Albany, Mississippi. Upon graduating, she lived for a short time in Chicago, Illinois.

On January 8, 1965, Helen and E.W. Williamson were united in Holy Matrimony. Together, they became the proud parents of three children.

Helen accepted Christ at an early age while residing in Mississippi and was baptized. Later, Helen, along with her husband and children, joined Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mozel Sanders. In 1983, Helen found a new church home at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member and served on the Nurses Guild until her illness.

Helen's employment career began at RCA, where she worked faithfully for 30 years. Later in life, she found great fulfillment and joy working in Guest Relations with Flanner Buchanan Funeral Homes at various locations until the COVID-19 pandemic limited her ability to continue.

A loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Helen cherished her family and found great joy in nurturing them with home-cooked meals and faithfully attending her children's and grandchildren's school activities. Helen was especially known for her legendary chicken and dressing, and her family never celebrated Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner without it.

Helen also found much joy in water aerobics and participating in exercise activities with her friends and neighbors in her community. She thrived in life knowing that her children and grandchildren were happy and flourishing in all aspects of their lives. Their happiness brought her the greatest peace and fulfillment.

Helen departed this life on August 28, 2026, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Williamson; her brothers, Billy, Aubrey, Barry, and Don Keaton; and her parents, B.W. and Amy Keaton.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gary Williamson, Anthony (Kimberly) Williamson, and Tonya (Roscoe) Brown; her grandchildren, Scott Williamson and Jia Cross; and her great-granddaughter, Aubrey Williamson. She is also survived by her sisters, Jeanette Meredith of Aurora, Illinois, and Linda (Dewayne) Nesbit of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law Ruth Keaton of Savannah, Georgia, Dorothy Miller, Hazel Williamson, and Mabel Everett, all of New Albany, Mississippi; brothers-in-law Troy (Carrie) Williamson of New Albany, Mississippi, and Michael (Paula) Williamson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family, and a community of friends and loved ones.
