Helen Torney

Helen T. (Theodore) Torney, 85, of Carmel died September 21, 2014. Helen was born in Terre Haute, IN to Angelus and Evangeline (Yannoulopoulos) Theodore. Helen was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church as well as an officer and devoted member of the Ladies' Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Church. Helen was also on the Metropolis Board of the Philoptochos. She began her professional career with Dow Chemical before she started working with Regulatory Affairs for Roche Diagnostics where she retired in 2009. Helen was preceded in death by her sister Katherine (Theodore) Baroudos in November of 1990. Calling will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church from 4 to 8 pm with a Trisagion Service at 7 pm. Additional calling will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2014 from 10 to 11 am at church followed by the Funeral Service beginning at 11 am. Helen is survived by her husband Harry L. Torney who she married on November 03, 1967. She is also survived by her niece Diane (Constantine) Chininis and nephew George (Julie) Baroudos and great nieces and nephews Katherine, Constance and Greg Chininis and Evan and Eli Baroudos. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel are handling arrangements.
