Helen J. Tipton

Helen J. (Westray) Tipton, age 85, of Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 17, 2022023,3 at her residence surrounded by her family.

The Logan County, Kentucky native was born June 29, 191938,38 to the late Brentic Westray and Lucille (Cane) Westray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Long; her second husband, Frederick Tipton; a brother, Kenneth Westray; and two infant siblings, Tommy and Brenda Westray.

She was a great and loving mother, a devoted and wonderful wife, and loved all of her grandchildren genuinely. She had a love for everyone that she came into contact with and was a good friend to many. Helen enjoyed making flower arrangements, especially with her beloved roses from her flowerbed. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and spending time decorating with her children and grandchildren.

Her memories will be cherished by her loving daughter, Brenda Hendricks (Gerald) of Rockfield, Kentucky; step-children, Steve Tipton (Carolyn), Kenneth Tipton (Gayle), and Kathy Potter all of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Ann Whitt; a brother, Bobby Westray; grandchildren, Evelyn Meredith (Jayson) and Mike Long; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Dakota, Alyson, and Kyler; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services in Bowling Green, Kentucky will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. CST at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Additional funeral services in Indianapolis, Indiana will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. EST at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with burial to follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 12:00 Noon EST until the funeral hour.
