Helen P. Beard

Helen was born on July 22, 1925 in Hillsdale, IN to Morton and Martha Jane Hammond. Helen had 4 brothers, Art and Robert Fiscus and Harmon and Harold Hammond, and a sister, Marguerite, who died as a child. On April 15, 1941 she married Forrest Leonard Beard, otherwise known as Jake. This bond would last 44 years until his death on July 11, 1985. That union produced 4 daughters, Linda, Marilyn, Joyce, and Connie, by the time Helen was 22. Years later they adopted another daughter, Shawnette. The girls married and blessed her with sons-in-law that treated her like she was their own mom. Those men are Sandy Stegner, Larry Muncie, Ken Cleverly, and David Neal. Her five daughters gave her 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
