Helen "Nancee" Babirak

Helen “Nancee” Babirak, age 72, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on July 25, 2023.

Nancee was born on November 21, 1950 in San Gabriel, California, the only child of Dr. Harry and Mrs. Helen Daughters.

Nancee graduated from Palmdale High School, Class of 1968, and pursued a career in cosmetology prior to attending Long Beach City College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1978. She faithfully served as a Registered Nurse, caring for patients for over 35 years in California, Indiana, and Maine. Nancee moved back home to Indiana in her retirement after her loving husband, Robert, passed away to be near her children and grandchildren.

Nancee was truly an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed most spending time with her “Bobby,” children, and grandchildren. She looked forward to every Christmas where she would transform her home into Santa’s Village the day after Thanksgiving every year and always had Christmas movies and hot chocolate available. She was known for her birthday celebrations and would sing “Happy Birthday” with a lit cupcake first thing in the morning to her family. Nancee loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart and would share His love with family, friends, and strangers. It was not unusual to find her praying with the homeless and providing meals to the hungry. Nancee loved to paint as a hobby and would volunteer at her children’s school where she taught students how to paint. In her retirement, you could find her painting or making her “famous” chili and opening her home up for all to enjoy.

Nancee was predeceased by her late husband, Robert Babirak. She is survived by her children Charity Kewish, Ryan Falquist and wife Haley, Loren Babirak and husband Sean, and Jonathan Babirak and wife Katie. She is also survived by her five grandsons Caleb, Isaiah, Elijah, Ezra, Shea and her two granddaughters Laisa and Isla as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Oliver.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Flanner Buchannan – Carmel located at 325 E. Carmel Drive in Carmel, Indiana. The Burial Procession to Crown Hill Cemetery located at 700 38^th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana will take place immediately after the service.
