Helen M. Atkins

Helen Marie Atkins, 91, of Carmel, IN passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born on April 29, 1924 in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of Charles and Mary Turner. She married William E. Atkins, who preceded her in passing January 22, 2015, after 66 years of marriage.

Helen was a member of AARP and the American Legion. She enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors on the front porch of her Broad Ripple home.

She is survived by a son, James A. (Sylvia) Lewis; four daughters, Rebecca Atkins King, M. Kathryn Atkins Morningstar, Marie Atkins (Derrick) Taylor, and Elizabeth Atkins Freije; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by a son, Thomas E. Lewis and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015, Flanner and Buchanan Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
