Helen Louise Lee, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at her residence in Greenfield, IN. Born on December 22, 1924, in Indianapolis, Helen was the daughter of the late William D. Crayton and Helen J. (Cloyd) Crayton.

Helen led a fulfilling life, filled with joy and cherished moments with her loved ones. She was a dedicated bank teller at Merchants National Bank, where she served the community with grace and professionalism for many years. Her warm smile and compassionate nature touched the lives of countless customers and colleagues.

Outside of her work, Helen enjoyed various interests that brought her immense happiness. A skilled bowler and enthusiastic square dancer, she reveled in the camaraderie and thrill of these activities, making lifelong friends along the way. Helen found solace and escape in the captivating world of literature, often immersing herself in books that transported her to faraway places and opened her mind to new perspectives.

Helen's greatest passion, however, was her family. She adored her daughter, Carol J. Morrisey (John), and son, Richard E. Lee (Patty), and took immense pride in being a loving mother. Her adoration extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose presence brought boundless joy and laughter into her life. They will forever cherish the memories of her warm hugs, loving advice, and the mischievous gleam in her eyes.

Helen was also a devoted member of the Speedway Baptist Church since 1975, finding solace, strength, and a sense of community in her unwavering faith. Her dedication to her spiritual journey provided her with a steadfast foundation and cherished friendships.

Known for her unwavering sense of humor and sassy personality, Helen had a remarkable ability to lighten any room with her infectious laughter and quick wit. Her culinary skills were renowned and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends, who always gathered eagerly around her table, eagerly awaiting the next delectable creation.

Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Helen's life are scheduled as follows: a public visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park North on December 4, 2023, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. On December 5, 2023, there will be a public visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, both at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park North. The entombment will take place on the same day at Washington Park North Cemetery.

Helen Louise Lee will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of all those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Helen's memory to the Speedway Baptist Church or the local animal shelter, as she held a special place in her heart for her furry friends.
