Helen Kay "Katie" Quakenbush

Helen Kay “Katie” Quakenbush, 67, of Carmel, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2023.  Helen was born April 24, 1956 in Milwaukee, WI to the late William and Donna Mueller.  She attended the University of Wisconsin & Northwestern.

Helen worked in accounting at Milwaukee Cheese and later was a customer service representative for Seven Corners Travel Insurance.  She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Carmel. She also regularly paid tribute to her catholic upbringing at St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carmel.

Helen was an avid lover of nature, keeping the songbirds that would visit each season thoroughly fed.  She took pleasure in chasing sunsets with her husband, Charlie. Most of all, she deeply loved her family, along with mocha Frappuccino’s from Starbucks.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Thursday, August 24 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm.  A private immediate family burial will be Friday, August 25 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, IN

Helen is survived by her husband, Charles E. “Charlie” Quakenbush; children, Daniel V. (wife, Megan) Quakenbush and Amanda K. (husband, Matty) Graham; siblings, Denise Jungbluth, Pat Koebel, Mike Mueller, Tom Mueller, Sue Wiborg and Meg Engel.
