Harry Wayne Rockhill, 83, of Speedway, passed away on July 9, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on May 29, 1929 as the son of Howard and Gladys (Jackson) Rockhill. Harry graduated from Brazil High School in the class of "48". He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea with the 76th Engineer Construction Battalion. Harry retired from Insurance Services Office, INC. 20 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion Post 500, and the VFW Post 48, where he was Quartermaster for many years. Harry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Brown) Rockhill; daughters, Susan Woodson of Russellville and Donna Spencer (Scott Clay) of Brownsburg; and step-son, Daniel Rogers. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Thompson; 3 nephews; niece, Mary Jane (Mike) Lybyer and their son, Pat. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard; sister-in-law, Rebecca. Visitation for Mr. Rockhill will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 11-1pm. A graveside service will be held at West Ridge Park Cemetery immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
