Harry Orval Ferrell

Harry Orval Ferrell, age 89 began his next journey on March 31, 2022. He resided in Lawrence and Noblesville, IN. Harry was born February 2, 1933 in Energy, Illinois to Lora Wrozier Ferrell and Harry T. Ferrell.

Harry was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Navy on the USS Pickaway.

He was a loving and devoted husband, married to Betty Cheatham Ferrell for 56 years. After Betty’s passing, Harry and Loretta Foulke were married and spent the last few years happily together.

He was a great dad to Debbie Deckard (Ron), Beth Champlin and Callie Hoppes (Ronnie). As well as a wonderful Grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

He was a member of The Nazarene Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent and Song Leader. Harry worked as a welder in the Navy and at B&B Welding for 50 plus years. 

Harry enjoyed old cars, Sunday drives, traveling and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of God and family, his sweet nature and positive influence on many lives.  

He is survived by his brother Tom Ferrell, sisters Lillian Kerrigan and Linda (Bruce) Hagler, all three daughters listed above (including spouses), grandchildren; Fia (Tim) Kilbourn, Ronda (Akil) Foderingham, Briana Deckard, Tori (Brad) Crose, David (Raquel) Champlin, Brittany (Isaac) Hocker, Addison, Avery and Aubrey Hoppes; 4 great grandchildren Evelyn, Oliver, Emina and Damerae. He was preceded in death by parents, sister Dee (Tony) Kerrigan, Dorothy (Tom) Garegnani, sister-in-law Sharon Ferrell and brother-in-law Paul Kerrigan.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229. A service will immediately follow the visitation. Harry will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to American Veterans, or American Legion.
