Harry Olsen

Harry Olsen, 81, Carmel, passed away November 11, 2012. He was born March 10, 1931 in Chicago, the son of Edward and Adelaide Olsen. Harry served in the Army in the Korean War. Throughout his career, Harry was a sales representative in the steel and shipping industries. Harry was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, was a member of Elks Lodge #13, where he was very active, and was a past state president of the Elks. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved sports, had coached little league, and enjoyed playing golf. Most importantly, Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harry was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maryann Olsen; his son, Mark Olsen; his daughter, Linda Graves (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Nicola, Rachel, Jacob, and Wyatt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road. Visitation will be on Friday, November 16 from 3-8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, with an Elks Memorial Service at 7 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded.
