Harrison Ronald Smith was born Aug 2, 1949 in Greencastle, Ind. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Some highlights of his career are working on the Alaska Pipeline, building a Utilador in Barrow, Alaska, surveying the beaches in the Grand Canyon before it was flooded by the Colorado River and being the city engineer of Greencastle, Indiana.
While his accomplishments are many, his true self was a man of great love and passionate devotion to causes he believed in. He loved adventure and the beautiful outdoors. He also loved animals and took great joy in feeding the birds, ducks and racoons. Rescuing and finding homes for lost cats was also a passion of his.
Harrison loved learning, reading, gardening, making new friends and hearing their life stories.
Most of all he loved Jesus Christ and his wife Deb. In 2016 he turned from his Buddhist studies to faith in Christ. He spent the last 10 years of his life growing in his faith by listening to Bible teacher Les Feldick, reading books by Martyn Lloyd- Jones and studying his Bible. His life was transformed by his faith which he shared with all who would listen.
Harrison went home to his Lord on September 11, 2026, and leaves behind his devoted wife Deb, cats Clem and Gracie and many loving family and friends
