HARRIETT WAGAR EIKENBERRY exited this life on April 25, 2012 while in the company of her husband, Joseph. Harriett was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on February 6, 1925. She was raised in Bismarck, ND graduating from Bismarck High School. She attended the University of North Dakota where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta social sorority. She also attended Chaffee College in Ontario, CA. Harriett married Second Lieutenant Joe Eikenberry on January 23, 1953 in San Bernardino, CA. They spent 26 years in the Air Force travelling to and living in many countries around the world. After retiring from the Air Force, she and her husband lived in Flora and Indianapolis, Indiana. Harriett enjoyed painting, decorating, reading and entertaining her many close friends. But her first love was always her family including her husband of 59 years, Joe, her daughters Kaye (Al), Anne (Dave) and her grandson Karl and two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Honah Leigh. No matter where they were or whatever the circumstances, her family came first along with her beloved pets. There will be no services, but a private celebration of her life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Indianapolis, PO Box 6069, Dept 27, Indianapolis, IN 46206; Cat's Haven, PO Box 30206, Indianapolis, IN 46230; or Indy Feral, PO Box 30054, Indianapolis, IN 46230.
