Harriet J. Carlson, 95, Indianapolis, formerly of Evansville, passed away peacefully May 17, 2016. She was born in Chicago in 1921 to Swedish immigrant parents. Harriet was a gifted artist, specializing in Rosemal painting; many of her lovely works of art are treasured by her family and friends. Being a world traveler, she and Ralph enjoyed adventuring in many exotic places. Lake Barkley in Kentucky was the setting of many fun family gatherings and sunset cocktails. In addition to her husband and parents, Harriet was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Brumbaugh, and a grandson, John Brumbaugh. Survivors include her children: David (Jami) Carlson, of Evansville, Susan (John) Fouts, of Fort Wayne, Peggy (Gary) Hall, of Indianapolis, and Ken (Nancy) Carlson, of Carmel; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her dear friends, Mariellen Dentino, and Howard Brumbaugh. The family would like to extend their thanks to Forum at the Crossing, Alliance Home Healthcare, and Friends of the Family for their support and loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E 91st St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
