Harold passed on to Heaven at 91 years young on Palm Sunday March 25, 2018. Born in Indianapolis on December 9, 1926 to James W. Plummer and Amelia (Oberwitte) Plummer, the youngest of 5 children, all who preceded him in death. He attended Arsenal Technical High School, leaving school early at the age of 17 to serve his country in the US Navy during WWII in the Asian Pacific Theater on LST 910, as a cook aboard ship. He developed his extraordinary cooking skills, which followed him into his lifetime career on the Indianapolis Fire Department. Known affectionately by his fellow firefighters as “Potsy” his 38-year Fire Department career saw him retire in 1989 as a Lt./Division Chief’s Aide. Harold was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners Firemen’s club and member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church.
Harold enjoyed his family, dog, traveling, bowling, working on his lake property, fishing, golfing, cooking and slots at the casinos. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Plummer, son Stephen (Sherry) Plummer, daughter Janet (Mike) Lucas, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
