Harold E. Huffman

Harold E. Huffman 91 of Indianapolis, IN died March 30, 2011. Harold was retired from the U.S.Postal Service in 1978 and from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1979. He also worked for Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers following his retirement. Harold was a member of Center Lodge #23 where he was the Past Master, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, AARP and Westview Christian Church. Harold was recognized many times over in his professional, fraternal and military career for his dedication and service to others. On April 9, 1941 he was joined in marriage to Lois Jeanne Hale and enjoyed 69 years of marriage with her. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, children, Carol J. Cooper, Lauri J. Rector, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild and sister Betty June Huffman. He is preceded in death by his son, Gary and grandson, Cory Huffman. Services will be held at 1PM Tuesday April 5, 2011 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Speedway with visitation there on Monday 7-9 PM. He will be laid to rest privately. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Murat Shrine Transportation Club which he was so active in providing transportation to children and their families receiving care at the various Shriners Hospitals.
