It is with the deepest of sorrows that I announce that we have lost a Great One, William Harold Cottongim passed on Thursday April 21st, 2022 Father to Eric, Ryan and Gary Cottongim, preceded in Death by Edrie Cottongim, Survived by loving wife of 40 years Dottie Cottongim. Harold was a true Pioneer in the foodservice industry. He opened his 1st restaurant in 1961, Harold’s BBQ, from there the business evolved over the years into a full service Catering business, He then purchased Northern beach park in Carmel Indiana in 1983 where it became a destination for corporate and private events, he later opened Celebrations Banquet facilities for Weddings and events, and most recently the Pit Stop BBQ and Grill restaurant in Brownsburg, You couldn’t travel anywhere where you wouldn’t meet someone who didn’t know him or had eaten at one of his foodservice establishments and they most certainly would have a story to tell. He was fortunate enough to be able to travel to so many beautiful destinations around the world with his wife Dottie, he lived life to the fullest in everything he did, he would light up a room with his infectious personality and humor. An avid lover of Music he enjoyed Karaoke and to Ham it up on stage whenever he could, his love of Music carries on in his children and grandchildren. Probably some of he and Dotties best times were sitting on the beautiful wrap around porch on their 20 acre Brownsburg Home with their dog Dudley, He will be missed greatly by all who knew him, I’m sure he is upstairs right now telling them they need to season the food better, he would of been 88 in July.
