Gwendolyn Parent

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Lee Parent, 74, of Greenfield, Indiana passed away March 13^th, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan June 16^th, 1947 to parents Harold and Texie (Davis) Hall.

Gwen graduated from Lawrence Central High School. high school and continued her education at Indiana University.

She was a hard worker and held many jobs throughout her lifetime before she retired.

On August 17^th, 1996, she married the love of her life, Joe Parent. They shared 13 wonderful years together. Joe passed away in 2009.

Gwen was a loving, generous woman with a huge heart. She was a collector and loved to keep items with sentimental value. Gwen enjoyed reading and spent countless hours at the library helping children learn to read. She was incredibly selfless, and routinely donated to Veteran’s charities and causes close to her heart. Thanks to her husband, Joe, Gwen developed a deep interest in history, specifically the Civil War era. She also loved Christmas, decorating her whole house every holiday season.

Gwen loved her family and often put them ahead of herself. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her siblings Jon (Julie) Hall, Bill “Allen” (Diane) Hall, and Shannon (Anthony) Sims; brother in law Jerry (Sharon) Walters, and sister in law Paulette (Dewayne) Bowens; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend Melinda Memmer.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Gwen will be Thursday March 17^th, from 9am11am at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East; Funeral will begin at 11am. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
