Gwendolyn Pace

Shelbyville, Indiana – Gwendolyn Pace, 76, passed while surrounded by family on June 22, 2026. Her outgoing nature, vibrant personality, and most of all, love, will be missed by all who knew her.

Gwen was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on August 6, 1949, to parents John & Geraldine (Cooper) Deeter. She graduated from Howe Carr High School, in 1957. She worked for Delta Airlines for 18 years in various roles, and the last 13 years she was a flight attendant which allowed her to travel all over with Mike often joining her on layovers.

Gwen was a lively woman, who enjoyed life and all it brought. She and Mike spent years traveling, Hawaii being their favorite vacation, and Gwen had a soft spot still for Paris. She also enjoyed taking cruises with her sister, Marie.

When she had a chance, Gwen also enjoyed crafts like quilting and knitting. She made blankets, sweaters, and a collection of hats for Mike. She enjoyed working with her flowers, playing Mahjong and shopping.

Gwen is survived by her husband Michael Pace; children Joseph Pace (Betty) and Julie Pace (Randy Witte); grandchildren Chelsei Pace, Ally Jo Pace, and Evan Witte (Gwen being their beloved GG); sister (and dear travel buddy) Marie Kemple; and brothers John Deeter, and Charles Deeter.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) from 4 – 8 pm.
