Guthrie M. Hatfield, 94 of Indianapolis was born March 13, 1920 and died on January 2, 2015. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Marvin and Iva Hatfield. He was married to the love of his life, Mary for 55 ½ years before her death in December 2001. He retired from the US Army as Captain after 27 years of service. He was employed at The Star News for 21 years before retiring. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM 712. As hobbies, he enjoyed genealogy research and being an Amateur Radio Operator. He is also preceded in death by his son, Marvin.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Gerald Hatfield and Vivian Blankenship, 1 grandson, Keith Hatfield and 2 great-grandchildren, Colten and Dakota. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at the Funeral Center. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
