Grover W. Cantrell Jr.

Grover W. Cantrell Jr., 72, of Carmel passed away October 6, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.  He was born June 21, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Grover W. Sr. and E. Sue (Byrd) Cantrell.

Grover was a 1968 graduate of North Central High School.  Along with his father, Grover started Cantrell Lawn and Garden and eventually would welcome his daughter, Jana, to the family business.  Even up until his passing, Grover was active with overseeing the daily operations of the business from his home.  He loved to sing and dance; enjoyed watching old western shows; and looked forward to his most favorite time of the year… Christmas.

He is survived by his longtime loving companion of more than 40 years, Katherine A. Smith Cantrell; daughter, Jana S. (Steve) Jackson; step-children, Stacy Krise Specht and Chuck (Tori) Krise; four grandchildren, Briana Jackson, Matthew Specht, Carolanne Specht, and Chase Krise; four siblings, Vicki Cantrell Dine, Linda Cantrell Duke, Gary Cantrell, and Cindy Cantrell Crawford; and nieces and nephews, Jason Duke, Alex Dine, Stephanie Kingen, Melissa Ochoa, Todd Hill, and Mindy Hill Sikora.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.
