Gretchen Toolan

Gretchen Toolan Of St. Augustine, FL, a kind, thoughtful, and loving daughter, wife, mother and friend passed away November 18, 2013. Gretchen was born on September 5, 1929 in Washington D.C., a devoted daughter to Ruth Campbell Edwards and grew up in Daytona Beach, FL and Carbondale, PA. Gretchen's husband of over 64 years, Charles, precedes her in death. Her loving children, Greg Toolan, Debra Toolan, Susan Baker and her brother, Ronald Edwards of Serverna Park, MD survive her. Gretchen worked several years at Franklin College while living in Franklin, IN. Gretchen had a great sense of humor and loved comedy shows, sports of any kind, shopping, finding the "best" fruit and vegetables for her family at neighborhood markets, and spending the evening with a glass of wine, good food, and good friends. Visitation will be at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Good Shepherd Chapel at 12 Noon on Friday, November 22 followed by services at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The American Red Cross at www.redcross.org, Water Aid America at www.wateraid.org, or Heifer International at www.heifer.org/gift.
