Gretchen Sypult

Gretchen Sypult, 83 of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017.  Gretchen was born August 13, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Glenn and Helen A. Gharrett.  She was a graduate of Drake University and earned her Master’s in Education from Indiana University.

Gretchen was a second and third grade teacher for the School Town of Highland in Highland, IN, retiring in 1992.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, January 8 at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple.  A graveside service will be held Monday, January 8 at 2:00 PM (Central time) at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.

Gretchen was the widow of Kenneth E. “Zip” Sypult.  She is survived by her children, Kimberly S. (husband, Steve) Wiggins and Chuck F. Sypult; grandchildren, Eric and Craig Wiggins, Robin, Timothy and Joseph Sypult; great grandson, Clark Beavers.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Gharrett.
