Granville Lewis Graves, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away at home on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
He was born on March 14, 1940 in Versailles, KY to the late Granville J.T. Graves and Ida M. (Terry) Graves. Lewis was a truck driver for 33 years, retiring from Ryder Truck Lines. He attended East Rawles Church of God and enjoyed yardwork, vegetable gardening and loved playing his guitar whenever he could. Lewis especially loved spending time with his large family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vondia C. (Stoner) Graves; children; Lisa (Graves) Gist and Doug Graves; 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Lewis is also survived by his step-children; Tonya (Lay) Benedict, Richard Lay and Kristy (Lay) Caudill; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Graves; step-daughter, Tammy Lay; granddaughter, Tosha Lay; brother, William Graves; and sisters, Dorothy (Graves) Riddle, Jean (Graves) Heady and Ruby (Graves) McGaughey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 11am – 1pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park with funeral services immediately following. Lewis will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are encouraged to the East Rawles Church of God.
